A note to anyone who still visits this site:

12-22-2009
As my friends know and others have probably observed, I'm taking care of life right now and djing is by having to take a backseat. This isn't retirement or leaving the scene or a reaction to anything that has happened that I am opposed to and retaliating against. I have always hated when djs 'retire' only to keep taking gigs forever on afterwards until they fade into obscurity. I still love hardcore, freeform and hardcore breaks and they will always play an important part in my life, but I am not actively pursuing any more gigs at this point. It's not to say I'm out forever, who knows what life holds, but until I have accomplished the things I feel are most important the time, energy and effort that going into doing shows and actively promoting oneself really can't take priority.

It's been a great decade (how wierd is it to be able to describe it with the word 'decade'?) and I can't thank enough those who have really made it amazing and played either critical or passing roles in shaping those years. I'll redo the site if and when the time is right and it's time to have another go at it, but right now it's time to look toward the future and toward different things.

I am still available for at least the next few months at sparrow@djsparrow.com and I don't think the day will ever come where I can turn down a booking. Playing has always been one of my life's greatest joys and I still collect new music just out of habit at this point. Some habits just die hard I guess.

Thank you all for everything and I'll see you down the road.
